Blue Moon String Quartet

Assembled in February 2015, Blue Moon String Quartet is Hollis Brown (first violin), Angela DiPaolo (second violin), Megan Maloney (viola), and Jeff Mahrer (cello).  

Hollis Brown is a veteran of a variety of bands (progressive rock, Avant chamber pop, comedic folk, bluegrass, and others) and numerous orchestras, musical theaters and other classical outfits. A studio musician including 7 albums with her own bands. She’s been teaching since 2000.

Angela DiPaolo is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. She has a masters degree in music education and teaches violin, guitar, and piano at her home studio. Angela has performed with a myriad of bands and musicians over the years and has recorded three original solo albums.  

Megan Maloney studied viola and guitar at Berklee College of Music. She has played in numerous bands varying in styles from Latin rock, hip hop, jazz and classical.

Jeff Mahrer plays cello, piano and a number of South American folk instruments and has performed in various bands and orchestras in California, Peru and North Carolina. 

Blue Moon String Quartet enjoys tea parties, hearty laughter and good music. With a repertoire that incorporates multiple genres and artists such as The Beatles, Adele, Mozart, Nirvana and many more, the group aspires to delight audiences of all ages and musical tastes.
